Reports: Cowboys RB Felix Jones won't play if Giants win Saturday
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett has said all week he is hopeful that running back Felix Jones
will play Saturday afternoon against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, according to multiple reports, Jones' availability for that game will depend on what happens in another game earlier in the day. Bryan Broaddus of ESPN Dallas and Matt Mosley of FOX Sports Southwest are both reporting that if the Giants beat the Jets earlier in the day, Jones will not play a snap Saturday. Jones, who didn't practice all week because of a tight hamstring, is officially listed as questionable. Sammy Morris and Chauncey Washington would be his replacements.
Fantasy Analysis:
If the Giants beat the Jets, the Cowboys would be playing a relatively meaningless game -- for them -- against the Eagles. Win or lose, they would still control their own destiny entering week 17's matchup versus the Giants. If the Giants lose Saturday, the Cowboys can clinch the NFC East with a victory. But I figure that Jones will be obviously limited. Get him out of your lineups now; you shouldn't want any part of that mess. I have no problem playing Sammy Morris IF Jones is ruled out and IF you can afford to wait until the 4 p.m. kickoffs. I think he's a fine flex option if Jones is officially out. He has a good matchup and gained 53 yards on 12 carries last week against the Buccaneers.
