Cowboys QB Tony Romo injures throwing hand
Injuries are a part of the game, but in the fantasy championship week, they can be seen as even more cruel than usual. Case in point, Tony Romo. In a nice matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, Romo threw just two passes Saturday before being forced out for the rest of the game. On his second throw, Romo's right hand slammed into the helmet of Eagles defensive end Jason Babin. X-rays came back negative and Romo was diagnosed with a hand contusion. In a relatively meaningless game for the Cowboys, Dallas decided to play it safe with its franchise QB. Trainers heavily wrapped Romo's right hand. Stephen McGee
filled in for the rest of the day.
Fantasy Analysis:
CBS cameras showed Romo's hand while he stood on the sideline, and it looked very swollen. He's lucky he didn't break a knuckle or two. However, Romo said he'll be fine for next week's division-deciding showdown at the New York Giants. If you survived his week-16 goose egg, feel lucky. Romo should be able to rebound against the Giants next week.
