Jerry Jones says he expects QB Tony Romo to play in week 17 vs. Giants

Stop me if you've heard this before: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is predicting that one of his injured offensive stars will be able to suit up for the upcoming game. Jones was off the mark with similar comments regarding Miles Austin earlier this season, but he's back to his old tricks with quarterback Tony Romo. Romo left Saturday's game versus Philadelphia very early after his throwing hand collided with a defender's helmet as Romo released a pass. His right hand swelled up a lot, so he didn't return. X-rays were negative, and Jones says he expects Romo to be active in next Sunday night's de facto playoff game against the New York Giants.
"We have every reason [to think he'll be OK]," Jones said of Romo after yesterday's loss. "Our people have encouraged us, and he has a history of playing with something that the doctors will let him go on. I feel like we dodged a bullet."

Fantasy Analysis:

Of course, the swelling in Romo's hand will have a lot to do with his status for the game. He will probably miss some practice time during the week, but he may not have to practice much or at all to be able to start. If he does play, and you're still vying for a championship, Romo would be a high-upside option against the Giants' beatable secondary.
