So much for Braylon Edwards ' quest to remake his image on a one-year deal in San Francisco so he can cash in in 2012. Edwards was cut by the 49ers on Tuesday. He broke the news on Twitter.
"I was released today by the 49ers due to my injury that required more time to rehab and hasn't allowed me to re-sync with the offense....," Edwards wrote.
He played in just nine games, tallying 15 catches, 181 yards and zero touchdowns.

Fantasy Analysis:

True, Edwards dealt with knee and shoulder issues for most of the year, but it was pretty telling that his end in San Fran was near when he was a healthy scratch in week 15. He'll be just 29 years old next year, but no matter where he lands in 2012, Edwards will not be someone present on fantasy draft boards. He'll need to make his way on another one-year contract.
