Jaguars tab Mike Mularkey as next head coach
It's not often that a person interviews and earns their desired job on the same day, but that's what has happened for Mike Mularkey. He interviewed for the Jacksonville Jaguars' head coach position on Tuesday. By night, the job was his. Mularkey most recently spent four years as the Atlanta Falcons' offensive coordinator. He got his first head coaching job with the Buffalo Bills from 2004-2005. The Bills went a collective 14-18 in those two seasons and finished third in the AFC East in each season.
Fantasy Analysis:
Mularkey helped guide the Falcons' offense out of the doldrums in 2008 but on the other hand, his most recent game saw his offense not score a point. He is now tasked with turning Blaine Gabbert
into a franchise quarterback and gathering some dependable targets for him. Right now, all he's got is Maurice Jones-Drew
and a whole bunch of junk mixed in with Gabbert's potential. It's a mammoth undertaking, so hopefully the J-Ville brass gives him time. Meanwhile, the Falcons have seen their offensive and defensive coordinator depart in the same week.
