Chargers sign RB Le'Ron McClain

The San Diego Chargers prepared for the inevitable loss of running back Mike Tolbert by signing another big back. The Chargers added Le'Ron McClain @LeRon_McClain33 on a three-year deal Wednesday. McClain spent 2011 with the Chiefs before playing three years with the Ravens. McClain expressed his joy of being a Charger via Twitter.
"Man I'm so excited to be a #Charger Can't wait to get to work #sweaterindawest," McClain wrote.

Fantasy Analysis:

McClain is not a runner -- he's gained just 316 yards on the ground over the past three years. He's a blocker, and he's one of the best in that field. While he might take away a few short touchdowns from Ryan Mathews @rmathews24, McClain is not as versatile as Tolbert, so he won't steal as many touches while opening some big running lanes. This signing is good news for Mathews on multiple fronts.
