WR Andre Caldwell joins Broncos
Wide receiver Andre Caldwell
hasn't been an extremely productive pro in his four NFL seasons. He has six career touchdowns and has never topped 450 yards in any season. But after spending those years catching passes from a rookie in Andy Dalton, a very raw Ryan Fitzpatrick, and a very average Carson Palmer, Caldwell is now teaming up with Peyton Manning. Caldwell announced on his Twitter feed Wednesday night that he has signed with the Denver Broncos. According to ProFootballTalk.com, he got a two-year deal.
Fantasy Analysis:
Normally, this wouldn't be worth noting. However, Manning changes everything -- especially if he's healthy. Denver isn't stocked with a bunch of quality wideouts, so Caldwell may be the team's No. 3 WR when the season begins. He'll probably work out of the slot, and Manning has turned similar also-ran players into fantasy stars before (hello there, Brandon Stokley). I don't think Caldwell would be worth drafting, but keep tabs on him during the season's early stages.
