Broncos trade WR Jabar Gaffney to Redskins
With the Donovan McNabb deal still not completed, wide receiver Jabar Gaffney and defensive end Jeremy Jarmon had the honor of being involved in the first trade of this post-lockout NFL. The two players were swapped for each other Wednesday with Gaffney going to the Redskins and Jarmon going to the Broncos.
Gaffney played in all 16 games for the Broncos last season. He got 11 starts and caught 65 passes for a surprisingly high 875 yards.
Fantasy Analysis:
Gaffney is the player that fantasy owners care about. The move to Washington doesn't do much for his value. It probably decreases it. He'll be stuck behind Santana Moss and Anthony Armstrong
on the depth chart. Plus, the Redskins will sign Donte' Stallworth
to a one-year deal. Leonard Hankerson's stock takes a big hit. and don't forget -- Beck. Grossman. Yeah, it's not pretty.
With Gaffney out of Denver, Eric Decker
and Eddie Royal will see more targets. One of those two guys will have to start alongside Brandon Lloyd.
