McNabb to Vikings is a done deal
According to Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, the Redskins have traded quarterback Donovan McNabb to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2012 sixth-round pick and a conditional 2013 sixth-round pick. This news had beend dragging for a very long time because McNabb needed to restructure his contract. The Redskins gave McNabb a $10 million option bonus when they extended his contract last season. Rookie Christian Ponder
was set to be the starter in Minnesota, but this move will put that on hold.
Fantasy Analysis:
A sixth round pick is all the Skins got for one of the great quarterbacks of this generation. That's what happens when you stick around just a little bit too long. This is a Fantasy situation best left untouched. While the Vikings have a great running game and nice set of receivers (assuming Sidney Rice returns), their offensive line isn't built to pass protect. The Vikings reached to select Ponder for a reason. They must've felt he was ready to play on Day 1. McNabb has only played a full 16-game season once in the last seven seasons so Ponder will more than likely get a shot to show what he can do.
