Update: Reggie Bush's contract restructured, trade to Dolphins complete

Reggie Bush @ReggieBush is officially a Miami Dolphin. A trade between the Saints and Dolphins had been on the precipice since last night; all that was holding it up was Bush's huge contract as he was due to earn $11.8 million for this season. Instead, Bush will take his talents to South Beach -- sorry, sorry, had to do it -- on a two-year contract worth $9.75 million. According to ESPN NFL business analyst Andrew Brandt, Bush will make $5 million this year -- $2.5 million signing bonus to go with his $2.5 million salary. That salary will jump up to $4.5 million in 2012. He is expected to split carries with rookie running back Daniel Thomas.

Fantasy Analysis:

What the Saints got in return for dealing Bush is unknown at this point; I'll update this post when I see it. But kudos to New Orleans for getting something for a player they were pretty much going to have to cut anyway. UPDATE: Bush was traded for 22-year-old undrafted safety Jonathon Amaya and a swap of draft picks that are still undisclosed. -- Bush stands to see more touches with the Dolphins than he did in recent years with the Saints. While Thomas is still considered the lead back, it's expected that Bush get a minimum of 15 touches per game. A healthy Reggie Bush with 15 touches per week could lead to exciting possibilities. If he can stay healthy enough to accomplish that is another story, as you know. It's a nice situation for Bush, but the major injury concerns hover over him like a dark cloud. He's an RB3 who still has tremendous upside. In New Orleans, Mark Ingram @MarkIngram22 appears to be the man with Pierre Thomas @Pierre_Thomas getting the secondary reps. But I don't want to comment too much about that backfield until we see how they are handled in training camp. And, yeah, Ronnie Brown is not coming back to Miami.
