Patriots sign-and-trade for Chad Ochocinco

According to ESPN's John Clayton, the New England Patriots have acquired wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. He agreed to restructure his three-year contract in order to play in New England. Cincinnati will receive two draft picks in return, one this year and another the next year. Ochocinco has spent his entire 10-year career with the Bengals but things have progressively worn thin between the receiver and team. Johnson finished 2010 with 67 receptions, 841 yards and four TDs.

Fantasy Analysis:

New England continues to add quality veterans and this is a smart move. Ochocinco doesn't have the athleticism to be a No. 1 receiver every snap, but he is still talented enough to contribute as a WR2 or WR3. Ochocinco joins Wes Welker @WesWelker and Deion Branch @deionbranch84 in the starting line up. For fantasy purposes, Ochocinco is a bye-week fill-in at best, but as for real football, this gives New England yet another weapon on offense.
