Bears' Matt Forte doesn't hold out, reports to training camp

There's one less possible holdout that fantasy owners need to care about. The Chicago Tribune reported Thursday that running back Matt Forte @MattForte22 was "strongly considering" not showing up when Bears training camp opens Friday. But two sources have confirmed to the Tribune that Forte, without a new, rich contract, was with his teammates today in camp. Forte is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is scheduled to make $555,000. He reportedly wants a five-year deal.

Fantasy Analysis:

Forte might soon get the extension he deserves, but it's nice to see that he is with the team instead of trying to prove a point. As I've said before, these holdout threats aren't an issue over which to bite your nails this early into training camp. Hopefully Chris Johnson, DeSean Jackson and others follow suit soon enough. Forte is a high-end RB2 in fantasy after racking up 1,616 yards from scrimmage last season. If he heads into this year without a new deal, maybe you could say he has some motivation to top those numbers.
