WR Mike Sims-Walker joins Rams
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford has yet another weapon at his disposal. The newest addition is former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker who announced the move to St. Louis on Twitter on Friday night.
"Last nite in orlando, got a early morning flight to catch to the midwest.... Yea its official I'm a RAM!!!!!!" Sims-Walker wrote.
Sims-Walker has scored seven touchdowns in each of the two past seasons, but 2010 was a struggle for him. Playing in 14 games as the Jags' supposed No. 1 wideout, Sims-Walker caught 43 passes for just 562 yards. He was shutout in three games and posted receiving yardage totals of less than 50 yards in nine other games.
In 2009, he caught 63 passes for 869 yards.
Fantasy Analysis:
It's a low-risk, high-reward move by the Rams. If MSW regains his 2009 form, it looks great. If he doesn't, it's just a one-year commitment. However, the Rams already have Danny Amendola , Donnie Avery, Danario Alexander, Brandon Gibson and a couple of rookies who are expected to make the team. I don't know where MSW fits in this offense, and he's probably not worth a draft pick in fantasy, but I'm sure Bradford is happy. Also, I am guessing this means Mark Clayton won't be coming back to St. Louis.
