Vikings try to bolster receiving corps with Michael Jenkins
The Minnesota Vikings' problems at wideout may not be solved with Saturday's addition, but they are hoping Michael Jenkins can help. The Vikings signed Jenkins to a three-year contract Saturday. Jenkins, 29, who caught 41 passes for 505 yards for the Falcons last season, was cut by Atlanta earlier this week. Jenkins has a connection with new Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave. He was part of the Falcons' offensive staff from 2006-2010.
Fantasy Analysis:
Jenkins can't possibly be Minnesota's ace in the hole, right? Granted, he adds more experience to the Vikings' WR corps, he hasn't caught more than 53 passes in any season. If he surpasses Bernard Berrian to become the team's No. 2 wide receiver, I don't think it adds much to Donovan McNabb
's or Percy Harvin
's fantasy value. Both Jenkins and Berrian are worth only late-round picks.
