WR Plaxico Burress signs with Jets

The New York Jets and wide receiver Plaxico Burress have agreed to a one-year, $3.01 million contract. With the news that Braylon Edwards @OfficialBraylon would not be returning to the Jets, Burress will have an opportunity to crack the starting lineup alongside Santonio Holmes @ToneTime10. Burress will also have to contend with WR3 Jerricho Cotchery @cotcheryfoundat. At 34 years old and nearly three years removed from the game, Burress has a lot to prove. He hasn't played in a NFL game since November 16, 2008.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Jets don't pass the ball enough to support much of a fantasy offense. Holmes will be the most consistent and reliable contributor and fantasy owners should definitely target him. Unfortunately, Burress has too much risk with too little upside in this offense. The Jets love to pound the rock and lean heavily on it, making Burress a fantasy afterthought.
