RB Ahmad Bradshaw signs with Giants
As he was about to become a free agent, Ahmad Bradshaw said he wanted to be a team's featured back. He felt like he was better than someone who had to split carries. But there was no market for Bradshaw as a No. 1 running back, so he has fallen back into his situation with the New York Giants. A source has confirmed to ProFootballTalk.com that Bradshaw has agreed to a four-year deal with the Giants. He will re-take his place in front of Brandon Jacobs
and get the plurality of carries in New York's backfield.
Fantasy Analysis:
I totally understand why Bradshaw wanted to see if a team would give him a chance to be their independent workhorse. But he reportedly was asking for too much money and even then, his history of foot ailments made all suitors wary of handing him the reins with an uncertain backup plan. But Bradshaw could have ended up in places a lot worse than New York. He's still the main guy with the Giants, even though he has to give away goal-line and short-yardage carries to Jacobs. In his first full season as the Giants' backfield leader, Bradshaw ran for 1,235 yards on 276 carries. He's also a decent receiver. He may never finish a season with 300+ carries, but who really cares? Bradshaw is a solid RB2 in fantasy, even with his injury concerns.
