Update: Eagles keep spending, pick up RB Ronnie Brown

If there are any former NFL Pro Bowlers still out there looking for work, I'm sure the Philadelphia Eagles will give you a chance. The Eagles picked up another player who fit that bill Tuesday: running back Ronnie Brown. The Eagles and Brown agreed to terms on a one-year deal. Brown is expected to be the backup to LeSean McCoy @CutonDime25 and see work on third downs and perhaps at the goal line. Brown, 29, rushed for just 734 yards on 200 carries last season with the Dolphins. He also caught 33 passes for 242 yards and scored five total touchdowns. UPDATE: A league source tells Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio that Brown got $1 million in base salary, plus a small package of incentives.

Fantasy Analysis:

That yards-per-carry average was the worst of Brown's six-season career. His game has really deteriorated over the past couple of years. But as a cheap backup? It's just another good value add by Philly. Brown will steal some carries from McCoy, but not enough to lower him from his current RB1 status. You should expect another 1,500+ total yards from him. Brown is worth just a flier in drafts now, maybe more once we see exactly how the Eagles plan to use him. This move just further clears the way for Daniel Thomas to start building his own legacy in Miami. Now we've got to figure out where Ricky Williams is going to play next.
