Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger questionable; QB Charlie Batch to start
The Pittsburgh Steelers have made the smart move regarding quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. However, fantasy owners of Mike Wallace
and Antonio Brown
would like to disagree. The team announced Friday that while Roethlisberger hasn't been ruled out for this weekend's game versus the St. Louis Rams, he won't start. That gig will go to Charlie Batch
, starting his first game since week three of last season. Roethlisberger played with his high-ankle sprain against San Francisco on Monday, but was clearly unable to make a bunch of otherwise easy throws. So, in a game they can probably win without Roethlisberger, the Steelers have decided to make him their emergency quarterback.
Fantasy Analysis:
I can't imagine that Batch is going to sling it 30-40 times against the Rams and their awful run defense. This game is going to be all about Rashard Mendenhall
. And those of you who own Wallace and Brown, I think you still have to start 'em if you're in a 12-team league with three WRs, but definitely lower your expectations. Chances of either of them scoring will not be plentiful.
