Norv Turner is still Chargers' head coach
The San Diego Chargers haven't made the playoffs the past two seasons and have largely underachieved with Norv Turner as their head honcho. But amid much speculation (and expectation) that he would lose his job, Turner will return for another season with San Diego in 2012. Team president Dean Spanos made the announcement Tuesday. General manager A.J. Smith will also return. Turner has a 49-31 regular-season record in five seasons as the Chargers' head coach. He's 3-3 in the playoffs.
Fantasy Analysis:
Norv better buy Philip Rivers a nice present; he's basically the reason why Turner held on to his post. Rivers made it no secret that he wanted Turner back. While Turner may not be able to lead any team to the top of the mountain, this is good news for the Chargers' skill players because Norv certainly knows offense. Rivers, Ryan Mathews
, Vincent Jackson
, Antonio Gates
, etc., should be high-end fantasy commodities in 2012.
