Mike Tice is Bears' new offensive coordinator
Mike Tice -- the former head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, and the Chicago Bears' offensive line coach since 2010 -- has been promoted to be the team's offensive coordinator. Tice replaces Mike Martz, who resigned earlier this week.
"[Tice] was very impressive in his job interview [Thursday] and shares the same vision I have for our offense," head coach Lovie Smith said. '"We want to be a strong running team with a big-play pass attack. Mike will call plays for us and continue to have an active role with our offensive line."
Fantasy Analysis:
A lot of people have mentioned Tice's time with Vikings during which he invented the "Randy Ratio" and oversaw an offense that put up a lot of passing yards. But Tice was just playing with what he had been dealt. In Chicago, Jay Cutler
doesn't have a Randy Moss or anything close to it. I think that means that Tice will heavily lean on Matt Forte
, and maybe the Bears will go out and obtain a No. 1 WR to team with Cutler.
