WR Vincent Jackson gets $55 million from Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered free agency with the most cap space of any team in the league, and they made use of it on Tuesday, signing former San Diego Charger wide receiver Vincent Jackson
to a five-year contract worth about $55 million. Jackson, 29, has topped 1,000 yards with at least seven touchdowns in three of the past four seasons. He fell short of those numbers in 2010 because he held out for most of the season. But outside of that, Jackson has missed only one game since 2006.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Bucs viewed Mike Williams as more of a No. 2 WR. Well, now he can be. Jackson is a stud wideout and a great get for Josh Freeman
and that offense. It's a huge loss for San Diego, who really now needs Vincent Brown to step up over a full season to go with Antonio Gates. Philip Rivers and Co. will be looking for a replacement, but WRs have been vanishing off the market at a quick rate today.
