Update: Seahawks speculation about Kevin Kolb, Matt Hasselbeck, Sidney Rice

UPDATE: Just a few minutes after I posted this note to the site, I saw this tweet from Danny O'Neil from The Seattle Times: "It appears the #Seahawks have acquired another quarterback, negating the offer for Hasselbeck to re-sign." Popular belief is that QB is Tarvaris Jackson @7tjackson. Everybody's scissors from all of this cutting have seemingly worn out. So while the news cycle is a little slow, here are a couple of tidbits about the Seattle Seahawks wrapped up into one post. Earlier today, a report surfaced about how the Tennessee Titans will be heavily involved in the Matt Hasselbeck @Hasselbeck sweepstakes. But there were still some who thought that he might stay in Seattle. That latter sentiment seems to be dissolving. NFL.com's Jason La Canfora wrote today that it appears "increasingly unlikely Matt Hasselbeck will be back in Seattle." Charles Robinson from Yahoo! simply tweeted "Hasselbeck not re-signing with the Seahawks." Both men think that the Seahawks will go after Kevin Kolb @KevinKolb_4. La Canfora said that Tarvaris Jackson may be a Plan B. If that's true, Jackson might be throwing passes to a familiar face. La Canfora wrote: "The Seahawks are also making a play for Minnesota free-agent receiver Sidney Rice @sidneyrice, sources say."

Fantasy Analysis:

Robinson said Arizona is still in the lead for Kolb, but to "not sleep" on Seattle. It sounds like Hasselbeck is getting closer to Tennessee while Kolb will be moving somewhere out west. Jackson under center wouldn't be fantastic for the likes of Rice, Mike Williams and any other WR who might/would be in Seattle. But it'll be better than Charlie Whitehurst. We'll have answers later this week.
