RB Brandon Jacobs staying with Giants after contract restructuring

Brandon Jacobs @gatorboyrb will remain a New York Giant and because of that fact, he has probably raised the odds that Ahmad Bradshaw @AhmadBradshaw will do the same. According to the New York Daily News, Jacobs has agreed today to a "small restructure" of his current contract that will give the Giants some salary cap flexibility. Jacobs was due $4.65 million and was a candidate to be cut this week. He'll now have incentives installed in his contract in which he could reclaim the money he's giving back. The hope is that money will help the Giants re-sign Bradshaw. Jacobs had a very solid 2010 season, averaging 5.6 yards over his 147 carries, nearly two yards more per carry than what he averaged in 2009. He also scored nine touchdowns.

Fantasy Analysis:

From everything I've read, it sounds like Bradshaw has run low on options elsewhere because he's trying to break the bank. Unless he dials down his asking price, he's probably not going anywhere. Jacobs remains a nice reserve RB in fantasy. He's a second fiddle to Bradshaw, but he is still a very good scorer. He's a reserve running back in fantasy, but would be more if Bradshaw does leave.
