Colts give Manning new huge contract

The Indianapolis Colts gave Peyton Manning a five-year, $90 million contract. The full details are still unknown regarding bonuses and guaranteed money, but the deal matches a contract signed by Tom Brady last year. Manning has undergone two neck surgeries in the last two years, but even so, Colts' owner Jim Irsay said all along that locking Manning into a long-term deal was the Colts' top priority.

Fantasy Analysis:

Even at age 35, the Colts are all-in with Manning. He'll be 40 when this contract expires and he'll walk away from the game as one of the all-time greats at his position. The Colts passed the ball way too much last season. Manning attempted 679 passes, that's 12 attempts shy of the NFL record. This imbalance may have worked well for a fantasy league that rewarded points for QB completions since he completed a record amount (450) but the lack of a reliable running game ultimately hurt the Colts. Even so, Manning is still as reliable as they come in fantasy football as he is a lock for 4,000-plus yards and 30-plus TDs every single year.
