Jets HC Rex Ryan sees QB Tim Tebow playing up to 20 snaps per game

Just how much will backup quarterback Tim Tebow @TimTebow play for the New York Jets this season? If you take head coach Rex Ryan at his word, Tebow could be on the field for about one-third of the team's snaps.
"With the Wildcat specifically, the great thing is you don't know if we're going to run it one snap a game or 20 snaps a game -- you have no idea," Ryan said. "Every week it could be different. That's some of the preparation problems he gives you. ... Tim is going to be a major contributor to our football team."

Fantasy Analysis:

We're likely reading too much into that quote. It doesn't sound like 20 is a set-in-stone number for Rex; it sounds more like a number he just threw out there. Regardless, now you've got media outlets all over the country spouting off about how Tebow is going to play 20 snaps per game, and that type of story can't make Mark Sanchez @Mark_Sanchez very happy. In fact, if Tebow does indeed play that often, it would hurt the fantasy values of all Jets around him. He'd steal short rushing touchdowns from Shonn Greene. His presence would mean fewer passing plays and thus, fewer chances for Santonio Holmes @ToneTime10 and Dustin Keller @DUSTINKELLER81 to put up numbers. The only player who would benefit from more Tebow is Tebow. And even then, unless he can rush for a touchdown per week, he still won't be on the field enough to hold QB2 value. The Jets look like a team I want nothing to do with in fantasy this year.
